Top 3 Myths About Wedding Planners

Over the last few years Wedding planners have started to be used by many couples wanting the perfect Wedding day.  When I speak to people about what I do the first thing they usually say is ‘I thought wedding planners were just for Americans’. Once I set that point straight the next three topics always crop up.

 

So here you have it, the top three myths I frequently come across about wedding planners.

 

Wedding planners are too expensive

 

A professional wedding planner will always aim to actually save you as much money as possible and take great care not to allow the wedding to go over budget.

 

I will always negotiate with your chosen suppliers to ensure you are getting the best possible value for your money.

 

I never take commission from venues or suppliers and any discount is always passed directly to you.

 

I offer a completely bespoke service, tailoring every aspect to suit your exact requirements and budget from simply sourcing a supplier to planning the whole wedding from start to finish.

 

I provide you with a clear budget breakdown from the very beginning and I work with you to make sure that we create your wedding vision without breaking the bank.

 

Venue wedding co-ordinators do the same thing as a wedding planner

 

Not true I’m afraid. While it’s only right and fair to say that many venues have fantastic wedding co-ordinators that are a pleasure to work with, they are not the same as having a personal wedding planner.

 

I take on approximately 10 events a year with no more than 6 full planning weddings to ensure that you get my complete attention and the highest level of service. In my experience venues will have anywhere between 50-90 weddings a year.

 

You may build a relationship with the venue co-ordinator only to find they will not be there on your wedding day due to shift patterns or annual leave. I will be there to ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

 

My total focus is you and what you want for your wedding. I work for you, not a venue.

 

I do not take any commission so I will never recommend a supplier or venue if they don’t fit your specifications.

 

A wedding planner will take over and it won’t feel like our wedding

 

I set up Your Planning Angel because I believe that everyone deserves a beautiful wedding day but couples are often so busy that they just don’t have the time to invest in getting all of those important details right. As your wedding planner I take the time to get to know you and fully understand your vision for the day. It’s your Wedding and I never take that for granted.

 

I am here to help, advise and support as much or as little as you need.
